What is the route from Enfield?

South on the Great Cambridge Road, east on the North Circular, then into Walthamstow from the top. Two main roads and one junction that matters.

  1. From Enfield Town, head south and join the A10 Great Cambridge Road.
  2. Follow the A10 south past Bush Hill Park and Edmonton.
  3. At the Angel Road junction, take the A406 North Circular eastbound signed for Woodford and the M11.
  4. Cross the Lea Valley past the Meridian Water developments.
  5. Leave the A406 at the Crooked Billet roundabout, taking Billet Road into Walthamstow.
  6. Billet Road runs into Forest Road. Continue west, then turn left into Blackhorse Lane.
  7. Hibbert Road is a short way down Blackhorse Lane on the left.

From Enfield Highway or Enfield Lock in EN3, coming down the A1010 Hertford Road and joining the A406 at Angel Road is the more natural line than looping back through the town.

What should I see along the way?

The long dual-carriageway run of the Great Cambridge Road past Bush Hill Park is the first half. The Angel Road and Meridian Water area, with the large retail sheds and the ongoing development works either side of the Lea, is the turning point. Once you are eastbound on the North Circular the reservoirs sit to your south. The Crooked Billet roundabout, a busy multi-lane junction, is your exit – if you continue on to Waterworks Corner you have gone past it, though Forest Road from there works too.

What about arriving and parking?

Free parking on site at Hibbert Road. Bring the V5C or other proof of ownership, both keys where the vehicle has two, and anything documenting recent electronic work – a cluster invoice, a diagnostic printout, a bodyshop parts list. Enfield brings us a lot of long-owned family cars, and for those the old MOT certificates in the service book are worth more than anything else you could carry.

Is there a train or tube option?

Yes. From Enfield Town the line runs south to Seven Sisters, where the Victoria line takes you to Blackhorse Road in a few minutes. From EN3, Enfield Lock to Tottenham Hale and then one stop on the Victoria line is quicker still. Hibbert Road is a short walk from Blackhorse Road station.

Or would a mobile visit in Enfield be easier?

For most jobs, yes. Enfield falls within our North London coverage and a technician can carry out the same read, recalibrate and verify work at your address. The drive is only worth making when the instrument cluster itself has failed and bench work is likely.
