Route · Ilford to E17
Ilford to our Hibbert Road workshop in Walthamstow E17 is around seven miles and takes twenty-two to thirty minutes, using the A406 North Circular northbound from the Redbridge roundabout. Free parking is available on site when you arrive.
The whole journey is essentially one road once you are on it: the North Circular heading north.
From the Gants Hill and Barkingside side of IG, joining the A406 at Redbridge directly is quicker than coming through Ilford town centre.
Valentines Park on your right as you leave Ilford confirms you are heading the correct way out of town. The Redbridge roundabout with its underpass is the point at which the journey becomes simple. Charlie Brown roundabout at Woodford, and the Waterstones-era retail sheds along that stretch of the A406, mark the middle. Waterworks Corner is where the reservoir land opens up and is your exit – if you find yourself at Crooked Billet, you have gone one junction too far and should double back.
Free parking on site at Hibbert Road, which saves the usual east London hunt for a bay. Bring proof of ownership, both keys where there are two, and any paperwork for recent cluster, dashboard or ECU work. If you bought the vehicle recently from a trader anywhere along the A406 corridor, bring the sales invoice too – it establishes what you were told about the mileage at the point of sale.
Yes. The Elizabeth line from Ilford to Stratford takes only a few minutes, then the Overground towards Chingford or the Victoria line via Walthamstow Central will put you at Blackhorse Road. The station is a short walk from Hibbert Road. This is the sensible route if you are leaving the vehicle with us and heading back the same day.
Ilford sits inside our East London coverage, so a mobile visit is straightforward. For a plug-in read, recalibrate and verify there is no advantage to driving over. Bring the vehicle in when the instrument cluster itself is faulty and may need work on the bench.
| Option | Round trip | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Drive the A406 | 50-60 minutes plus the job | Cluster may need bench repair |
| Elizabeth line via Stratford | About 45 minutes each way | Leaving the car with us |
| Mobile visit in Ilford | No travel for you | Straightforward recalibration |
| Trade premises in IG | No travel for you | Several vehicles at one site |
Waterworks Corner, signed for Walthamstow and the A503 Forest Road. Crooked Billet is the next one along and means you have overshot.
Yes, the IG postcodes are part of our East London coverage and are a short run from the workshop.
Most jobs run from thirty minutes to two hours. You are welcome to wait, or to leave the vehicle and take the Victoria line back from Blackhorse Road.
Tell us the make, model, year and what the dashboard is doing. We will confirm whether to drive over or whether a mobile visit in IG suits you better.
