Harlow was built around employment, and it still works that way. Templefields, the Pinnacles and the industrial estates along Edinburgh Way carry a large population of commercial vehicles: service vans, works pickups, pool cars and light commercials that cover serious distances and get repaired rather than replaced.
High-mileage commercial vehicles have replacement parts fitted as a matter of routine, and instrument clusters and ECUs are firmly on that list. Log the odometer reading against the vehicle every time a cluster, dashboard or ECU is replaced, in the same place you keep the service record. Fleets almost always have the repair invoice and almost never have the reading that went with it. Six months later nobody can say what the vehicle had actually covered, and the correction becomes an argument instead of an administrative task. One line in the maintenance record at the time of the repair removes the problem entirely.
